The next piece of documentation was the factory car order which was sent to Gorries Chevrolet to state how the car was to be built and that it was now awaiting production. On this document the 4 speed transmission option code listed the transmission as an M20. In 1965, all 4 speeds were ordered initially by the M20 4 speed designation.

Muncie 4 speed transmissions were used in General Motors cars from 1963 to early 1975. These gear boxes were used when power levels exceeded the limits of the early Borg Warner T10 4 speed. However, if you had the iron cased st10 with a 2.43 gearset; its as strong of an OEM 4 Speed gearbox "system" as you can get, without getting into Hemi 833s (assuming all new, quality parts).
